Aoda 710020 : Absolute Being Eagle

I. INTRO : COLORS AND PACKAGING

Another plastic yoyos by Aoda. It comes in 2 color i.e. blue and black. The blue one has a transparent color while the black one has a solid color.

It comes with poly-cotton string which is usually being used for competition but still not install yet. You can install it by looking on the instruction which is on the back side of packaging. Pretty easy to do.

II. PARTS

1. Halves. The material use for this yoyo is very light but hard. It’s rigid and doesn’t flex, I think it’s more like ABS plastic instead of PP / PS. It has common butterfly-shape with the back part almost flat (V-shapped). It doesn’t have the pog on the caps, but there’s grove that can be used to attach pog design / picture to cover the caps. The axle housing is not exceed the groove so, yes, the pog can be added on the caps, nicely

2. Bearing. It uses small aoda bearing with size of : 5x11x5 mm. They are the same size as other yoyo brand such as Hspin or others. It’s not a concave bearing yet. The bearing is shielded (protected) in mix between Teflon-rubber shield on one side and metal shield on the other side. It’s pretty weird ’cause I’ve never seen this before. All I know is that the shield will be all rubber (which is superior to metal shield) or all metal shield. There’s a metal groove where the bearing seat so it doesn’t touch the axle.

3. The response system. It uses a pair of white silicon pad (silicone recess system) on both halves with a wide depth. The silicone pads sit on the well-deep plastic groove. When it wear-offs, it can be replace with silicone sealant for gasket or glass-aquarium.

4. Axle. It is made of steel and threaded all the way from left to right, in black color.

5. String. Surprisingly, it comes with semi poly-cotton string. It’s a good string for playing and would last longer than the cotton one.

III. GEOMETRY

1. Halves diameter

2. Pog diameter

3. Side to side

4. Gap

5. Bearing

6. Weight

7. Sleeper time, it never reach more than 20 seconds. Average is about 15 seconds straight out of the box.

IV. SUMMARY

This yoyo is good for beginner who’d like to try some standard trick. Somehow, it needs more weight to be ideally playable …. Be careful not to hit the surface a lot since the plastic material looks a bit fragile (easily broken).

V. UPGRADABILITY

Weight rings or other additional weight adjustment
Concave bearing for doing more trick
Protector for the outer rim ..

ooo END ooo
